Journalist Wan Hamidi Hamid has been offered to work as Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng’s political secretary in charge of national unity affairs at state level.
Wan Hamidi, who resigned as senior writer with the New Straits Times recently, is expected to take up the appointment soon.
A source said Wan Hamidi, a life member of DAP, is expected to assist the Chief Minister in matters pertaining to his portfolio.
Lim refused to confirm or deny the appointment when contacted yesterday.
Wan Hamidi started his career in Berita Harian in 1988 and has since worked for The Sun, The Star and Singapore's Straits Times.
He was also a freelance writer and media consultant for several Malay magazines from 2001 to 2002, and had served the Australian High Commission as media relations adviser from 2002 to 2005
