The Seberang Perai Municipal Council (MPSP) councillor's post left vacant by the Penang Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry will be filled by another Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) representative.
Penang Local Government, Traffic Management and Environment committee chairman Chow Kon Yeow the state government will go through the applications and find someone to replace Guna Segaran Raguan@Raguan who is the chamber's director.
"This matter will be raised in the state executive council weekly meeting tomorrow," he told told theSun today.
Yesterday, only 23 MPSP councillors were sworn, with only two NGO representatives, Penang Chinese Chamber of Commerce's Liu Ting Ling and Penang Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers director Datuk Muhammad Ismail.
Guna, who was supposed to be the third NGO representative in MPSP, sent a letter to the Penang State Secretary office on Monday (April 21) declining the post due to personal reasons.
